Scripture:
2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Right now, the whole world is steeped in fear and this has paralyzed a lot of people as we speak. And others, actually live in fear; that is literally walk in total fear because of the state the world is in right now. In every city, town, and region on every continent, natural and man made disasters are looming large.
But this isn't the case with believers who have their life anchored on Jesus Christ and His Word. The truth is, Christians have this advantage over non-believers or lukewarm believers, because a person who lives by God's word has his or her faith charged up daily by God's word. In other words, the faith and confidence of the believer is constantly vibrant as he or she makes the habit of reading and studying the Word of God.
Scripture says in Romans 10:17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Constant exposure to God's word either by hearing or reading will in no doubt boost your faith. And where faith abounds, the darkness of fear has no place to dwell in your heart, mind and life.
The potency of God's Word has the ability to dispel any form of darkness and that includes fear! It delivers, heals, restores and emboldens you to walk by faith and not by sight.
And so the antidote to fear is consistent hearing of God's Word either through audio listening or reading the Bible on a daily basis. Before long, you actually begin to feel strong, and be strengthened from the inside out.
Proverbs 28:1 says, The wicked flees when no one pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a Lion. This is truth, and this truth can become your reality once you become an avid hearer of God's Word.
Prayer
Father Lord, I come to You and acknowledge You as my Lord and Saviour. Please help me to become an avid hearer and student of your Word, so I can build my faith and be bold as a Lion, and not be fearful as your Word says. I ask this in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.
